William Martin Joel, alias Billy Joel, è nato a New York il 9 maggio 1949 ed è un cantautore e pianista in attività dal 1964. Ho scelto il suo brano Honesty, con testo e video.
L’ attività musicale di Billy Joel cominciò con la band chiamata The Hassles con cui pubblicò ben due album.
Nel 1970 passò all’ hard rock, ma poi passò a suonare nei piano bar facendosi conoscere ed apprezzare per la straordinaria voce e come pianista.
Nel 1973 pubblicò l’ ottimo album “Piano Man” finendo sotto contratto con la Columbia Records.
La consacrazione al successo arrivò nel 1976 con il disco “Turnstiles”, che lo portò a fare un tour di successo con il tutto esaurito a New York.

Da lì in poi Billy Joel pubblicò album di grande stile, tra pop e rock collaborando con vari artisti.
Per celebrare il suo 68° compleanno, ho scelto la bellissima canzone Honesty, contenuta nell’album 52nd Street del 1978.
