La canzone fu scritta e composta da Billy Hayes e da Jay W. Johnson nel 1948. La canzone raggiunse la grande notorietà nel 1957 con l’ album Elvis’ Christmas Album. Il disco raggiunse subito la prima posizione, vendendo negli anni oltre 10 milioni di copie.
Una straordinaria hit d’ amore molto struggente, dove il concetto principale è la mancanza della persona amata, per questo il significato del titolo è Natale Triste.
La versione del video, è quella del live del 1968, in cui Elvis duetta con Martina McBride. Nel canale Vevo di Presley, il brano ha superato la quota di 10 milioni di visualizzazioni.
