Ian Scott Anderson (Dunfermline, 10 agosto 1947) è un polistrumentista, compositore e cantante britannico, flautista, voce e leader del gruppo rock progressivo Jethro Tull (Fonte Wikipedia).
La leggenda narra che, Ian Anderson si recò ad un concerto di Eric Clapton e, davanti alla bravura di Slowhand, decise di dedicarsi solo al flauto.
Grande e geniale compositore, Ian Anderson è un flautista autodidatta, che tecnicamente si ispirò a Roland Kirk.
Carismatico, ironico, Anderson ha dimostrato negli anni di essere un ottimo polistrumentista.
Se i Jethro Tull sono tra i più grandi gruppi di rock progressive mondiale, questo lo si deve alla grande vena compositiva di Ian.
Con il suo flauto, continua ad incantare il mondo, con podersosi assoli dove il rock, il blues ed il jazz si fondono alla musica classica.
