Nel 1970 i Beatles pubblicarono l’ album Let it Be, ultimo capitolo della band.
La canzone che dà il titolo all’ album, fu scritta da Paul McCartney, anche se poi attribuita al duo Lennon/McCartney.
Come rivelò Macca, la canzone prende ispirazione da un suo sogno, in cui avrebbe parlato con la madre Mary, deceduta quando lui aveva 14 anni, a seguito di un cancro.
In quel periodo vi erano molte tensioni nel gruppo, così Mary disse a Paul di lasciare correre, appunto Let it Be.
Una canzone bellissima, snobbata da John Lennon, che cercò di boicottare tutte i brani scritti da Macca.
Un brano toccante, che ribadisce l’ importanza del consiglio materno.
