3 anni fa moriva il bassista dei Toto, Mike Porcaro. In suo ricordo, vi posto il brano “Cruel”, con testo e video.
Michael Joseph Porcaro era nato ad Hartford (USA) il 29 maggio 1955.
Bassista di grande levatura, entrò ufficialmente nei Toto nel 1982, dopo l’ uscita di “Toto IV”, al posto di David Hungate, che preferì la carriera si session man.
Mike era il secondo di tre fratelli, come lui celebri musicisti e membri dei Toto, Jeff Porcaro e Steve Porcaro, e figlio del famoso batterista jazz Joe Porcaro.
Il 27 febbraio 2010, dal sito ufficiale dei Toto, si venne a conoscenza che Mike Porcaro era malato di Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica (SLA).
Il 15 marzo 2015 , il bassista morì nel sonno all’età di 59 anni nella sua casa a Los Angeles. (Fonte Wikipedia)
Il brano “Cruel” è estratto dall’ottimo album “Mindfields” del 1999.
La canzone è una ballata, che alcuni hanno definito la “Rosanna” degli anni ’90.
