Peter Dennis Blandford “Pete” Townshend, è nato a Londra il 19 maggio 1945.
Leader dei The Who, è cantante, compositore, chitarrista dotato di una tecnica propria e di una grande presenza scenica.
La rivista Rolling Stones, ha collocato Townshend al 10° posto della classifica dei 100 migliori chitarristi di sempre.
Ho scelto la canzone Pinball Wizard, contenuta nel monumentale album Tommy del 1969.
Nel film, la parte di Pinball Wizard fu affidata ad Elton John.
