Stephen Percy Harris, alias Steve Harris, è nato a Londra il 12 marzo 1956, è bassista, compositore, fondatore degli Iron Maiden.
Steve è il principale compositore, tastierista e bassista degli Iron Maiden, da lui stesso fondati nel 1975. Harris e Dave Murray sono gli unici componenti presenti in tutte le produzioni della band.
In attività dal 1974, Harris è uno dei più influenti bassisti dell’ Heavy Metal. Nel suo dna musicale, sono presenti Jethro Tull, Black Sabbatg, UFO.
Hallowed Be Thy Name è un brano musicale scritto da Steve Harris per l’album The Number of the Beast degli Iron Maiden, pubblicato nel 1982.
Il testo della canzone parla delle ultime ore vissute da un condannato a morte, immediatamente precedenti all’esecuzione. Inizialmente, il condannato sembra rassegnato di fronte alla morte, ma poi si convince di non averne paura, perché la vita in fondo è solo un’illusione e potrebbe esserci qualcosa dopo. Segue una lunga parte interamente strumentale, che rende bene il crescendo di emozioni provate dal condannato e degli eventi. Questa parte culmina nell’invocazione finale, ripetuta più volte, “Hallowed Be Thy Name” (sia santificato il tuo nome). Alla fine, l’uomo viene giustiziato. (Fonte Wikipedia)
