Albert Green, vero nome Albert Leornes Green, è nato a Forrest City (USA) il 13 aprile 1946.
Iniziò a cantare in un quartetto Gospel all’ età di 9 anni, ma la sua ascesa al successo arrivò nei primi anni ’70.
Dotato di grande voce, con un uso straordinario del falsetto, nel 1972 Green raggiunse il grande successo con Let’s Stay Together.
Due anni più tardi, dopo il suicidio dell’allora fidanzata Mary Woodson, Al si convertì al Cristianesimo diventando Pastore alla Full Gospel Tabernacle di Memphis.
La sua musica, fatta di Gospel, Soul e R&B è per me fantastica come la sua voce, con vibrazioni che sembrano partire dall’anima.
Let’s Stay Together è una canzone di Al Green, estratta come singolo dall’omonimo album del 1972.
La canzone in seguito apparve nella colonna sonora del film Pulp Fiction. È stata classificata dalla rivista Rolling Stone come la sessantesima migliore canzone di tutti i tempi, nella speciale classifica delle 500 più grandi canzoni di tutti i tempi. (Fonte Wikipedia)
