Oggi il grande cantautore e polistrumentista irlandese Van Morrison compie 73 anni.  Per celebrarlo, vi posto il brano “Reminds Me Of You”, con testo e video.

Sir George Ivan “Van” Morrison è nato a Belfast il 31 agosto 1945, iniziò la sua carriera musicale nei primi anni ’60 fondando i Them, con i quali raggiunse la fama mondiale con il brano “Gloria”, di cui esistono varie cover, di cui la più celebre è quella dei The Doors.

Dopo aver intrapreso la carriera solista nel 1966, passò un periodo di depressione e problemi legati al’alcol, ma nel 1970 pubblicò lo straordinario album “Moondance”, riportato al successo da Michael Bublè nel 2003.

Una carriera straordinaria, in cui Van Morrison ha esplorato la musica con grande maestria, restando fedele al suo amore per l’ R&B ed il Soul.

Nelle classifiche di Rolling Stone, il cantautore figura al quarantaduesimo nella lista dei cento migliori artisti di sempre, al ventiquattresimo in quella dei cento migliori cantanti, mentre i dischi Astral Weeks e Moondance, compaiono nella lista dei 500 migliori album di sempre!

La canzone “Reminds Me Of You” è estratta dall’album “Back on Top” del 1999.

L’album è stato registrato a Bath e Dublino ed è stato pubblicato dalla Point Black Records. Si tratta, per l’artista, di un ritorno ai generi musicali blues e R&B. (Fonte Wikipedia)
