Chris de Burgh è nato a Venado Tuerto (Argentina) il 15 ottobre 1948.
Figlio di un diplomatico inglese ed una segretaria irlandese, la sua famiglia si trasferì in un castello che convertirono in hotel.
Fu lì che Chris mosse i primi passi verso la musica, cantando per gli ospiti della struttura.
Il suo primo album è del 1974 “Far Beyond These Castle Walls”, mentre l’ ultimo lavoro è “A Better World” del 2016.
La canzone High On Emotion è estratta dall’album Man on the Line del 1984.
