Howard Jones, vero nome John Howard Jones, è nato a Southampton (UK) il 23 febbraio 1955, è un pianista, tastierista e cantante, icona del synthpop degli anni ottanta.
Grande musicista di formazione classica, imparò a suonare il pianoforte all’ età di 7 anni, cosa che gli permise di esibirsi nei locali cosiddetti “one-man-show”, dove era unico musicista sul palco, accompagnato da sintetizzatori e drum machine.
Ben presto fu notato da un giornalista che lo aiutò a trovare un contratto e nel 1983 esordì con la canzone Ne Song, che lo portò subito ai vertici delle classifiche europee.
Nel 1986, Howard Jones fu eletto Miglior Tastierista dell’ Anno dalla rivista Rolling Stone.
Il suo ultimo lavoro è l’album Transform, pubblicato il 10 maggio 2019, dove ancora una volta non tradisce la sua vocazione verso quel Synth Pop che lo ha da sempre contraddistinto.
“No One Is to Blame” è una canzone di Howard Jones. La canzone, nella sua versione originale, si trova nel suo secondo album in studio, Dream into Action, uscito nel 1985. Dopo il successo dei singoli precedenti tratti dall’album, il brano originale di “No One Is to Blame” è stato ri-registrato per dare alla canzone un suono più radiofonico. Phil Collins e Hugh Padgham hanno prodotto la ri-registrazione, con Collins che ha aggiunto il suo lavoro di batteria e il suo mood. Questa nuova versione della canzone è stata inclusa nell’EP statunitense del 1986 Action Replay così come nella versione in CD dell’album in studio del 1986 di Jones, One to One.
