Ian Gillan è nato a Hounslow (UK) il 19 agosto 1945 ed è la storica voce dei Deep Purple.
La sua straordinaria carriera cominciò alla fine degli anni ’50 con Roger Glover in una band chiamata Episode Six, poi entrambi entrarono poco dopo nei Deep Purple.
Oltre ai Deep Purple, Gillan ha segnato la storia del rock con altre formazioni, come la Ian Gillan Band, i Black Sabbath per l’album Born Again, cantando inoltre nella versione originale della rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar di Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Straordinaria voce, celebre per gli acuti come in Child in Time, è sicuramente uno dei cantanti che più hanno influenzato l’ hard rock e l’ heavy metal.
Strange Kind of Woman è un singolo dei Deep Purple, uscito nel febbraio del 1971, che raggiunse l’ottava posizione nel Regno Unito. (Fonte Wikipedia)
