John Cameron Fogerty è un cantautore e chitarrista, nato a Berkeley (USA) il 28 maggio 1945.
In attività dal 1959, John Fogerty balzò alla fama mondiale con la band Creedence Clearwater Revival che dal 1967 al 1972 scrisse pagine importantissime del rock, rimanendone nella leggenda.
Dal 1973 Fogerty cominciò una proficua carriera solista, proponendo la sua grandiosa voce in cui il rock ed il blues diventano un tuttuno.
Il suo ultimo album è Wrote a Song for Everyone del 2013.
” Jambalaya (On the Bayou) ” è una canzone scritta e registrata dal cantante di musica country Hank Williams, pubblicata per la prima volta nel luglio 1952.
John Fogerty pubblicò la sua versione nel 1973, per l’ ottimo album The Blue Ridge Rangers. In questo lavoro, Fogerty suonò tutti gli strumenti.
La jambalaya è un piatto creolo della Louisiana di origine provenzale con influenze africane, spagnole e amerindie, fatta con carne, verdure, riso o brodo. (Fonte Wikipedia)
