Batterista dotato di buona tecnica e versatilità, negli anni ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di B.B. King, Daniel Lanois, Robbie Robertson, Alice Cooper ed altri ancora.
New Year’s Day è un brano musicale del gruppo rock irlandese U2, estratto come primo singolo dall’album War nel 1983. La canzone è guidata dal distintivo basso di Adam Clayton e dalla tastiera di The Edge. Si tratta del primo vero successo del gruppo, riuscendo ad entrare nella top ten britannica e nella prestigiosa Billboard Hot 100 per la prima volta nell’intera carriera del gruppo.
