Lione Richie, vero nome Lionel Brockman Richie Jr. è nato a Tuskegee, USA, il 20 giugno 1949.
Cantante, compositore ed attore, iniziò la sua carriera nel 1968, diventando il sassofonista ed il frontman dei Commodores, poi dal 1982 continuò da solista, con grandi successi.
