Meat Loaf, vero nome Marvin Lee Aday, è nato a Dallas il 27 settembre 1947. Dal 2001 ha cambiato il nome da Marvin a Michael.
Nonostante alcuni inconvenienti (tra cui la bancarotta) ha raggiunto un successo notevole con la sua carriera di musicista e cantante, soprattutto grazie all’album Bat Out of Hell, uno dei dischi più venduti della storia del rock. Per il brano I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) tratto dall’album Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell ha ottenuto il Grammy Award per la migliore performance vocale. (Fonte Wikipedia)
In attività dal 1968, Loaf ha spaziato dal rock all’ Heavy Metal con ben 20 album pubblicati.
Come attore ha fatto parte di una cinquantina di film, tra cui voglio ricordare il Rocky Horror Picture Show, Roadie e Fight Club.
I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) è un singolo scritto e composto da Jim Steinman e interpretato da Meat Loaf, poi contenuto nell’album Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell nel 1993.
La canzone è stata la più venduta del 1993 e ha valso a Meat Loaf il Grammy Award alla miglior interpretazione vocale rock solista.
