Meat Loaf, vero nome Marvin Lee Aday, era nato a Dallas il 27 settembre 1947 è stato un cantante ed attore. Dal 2001 cambiò il nome da Marvin a Michael.
Nonostante alcuni inconvenienti (tra cui la bancarotta) ha raggiunto un successo notevole con la sua carriera di musicista e cantante, soprattutto grazie all’album Bat Out of Hell, uno dei dischi più venduti della storia del rock. Per il brano I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) tratto dall’album Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell ha ottenuto il Grammy Award per la migliore performance vocale. (Fonte Wikipedia)
Bat Out of Hell è la title track dell’omino album del 1977, composto da Jim Steinman e prodotto da Todd Rundgren.
Nel 1993 Jim Steinman scrisse il sequel, Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, che include il singolo di successo I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) che fece vincere il Grammy Awards a Meat Loaf, per la migliore interpretazione maschile.
Come attore oltre al The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Meat Loaf prese parte ad una cinquantina tra film e spettacoli tv, tra cui voglio ricordare Fight Club e Roadie.
