Il 5 aprile 1913, nasceva il grande bluesman Muddy Waters. Ho pensato di ricordarlo con il brano “I Can’t Be Satisfied”, con testo e video.
Oggi vorrei parlarvi di uno dei padri del Blues, il leggendario Muddy Waters, che con la sua musica ispirò band come i Rolling Stones, gli Yardbirds ed altri ancora.
Muddy Waters, vero nome McKinley Morganfield, era nato a Rolling Fork (UK) il 4 aprile 1913 ed il suo soprannome gli fu affibbiato dalla nonna che lo vedeva sempre sguazzare nel fango.
Muddy è stato il bluesman più influente per il British Blues, tanto che furono i Rolling Stones a riportarlo al successo, quando nel 1972 lo fecero suonare a Londra nelle mitiche London Muddy Waters Session, accompagnato da musicisti come Rory Gallagher, Steve Winwood, Rick Grech e Mitch Mitchell.
Secondo la rivista Rolling Stone, Muddy Waters è collocato al 49° posto della classifica dei 100 migliori chitarristi di sempre.
Morì il 30 aprile 1983 nella sua casa di Westmont. Due anni più tardi la città di Chicago gli dedicò parte della 43rd Street in “Honorary Muddy Waters Drive”, nella zona dove aveva abitato.
