Neil Leslie Diamond è nato a New York il 24 gennaio 1941, è un cantautore, compositore ed attore.
Diamond è dotato di una bella voce potente, ma anche di una grande vena compositiva, che gli ha permesso negli anni di realizzare hit di grande successo, come “I’m a Believer”, “America”, “September Morn” ed altre ancora.
” I Am … I Said ” è una canzone scritta e registrata da Neil Diamond, pubblicata come singolo il 15 marzo 1971.
La canzone permise a Diamond, di ottenere la sua prima nomination ai Grammy Awards , per la migliore performance pop maschile.
