Il 28 gennaio 2016, moriva il grande Paul Kantner. In suo ricordo vi posto il brano “Wooden Ships” dei Jefferson Airplane, con testo e video.

Paul era un cantautore e musicista, cofondatore dei leggendari Jefferson Airplane , divenuti poi Jefferson Starship.
Paul Lorin Kantner era nato a San Francisco (USA), il 17 marzo 1941, nella sua cinquantennale carriera, ha realizzato brani entrati nella leggenda del rock psichedelico, come “Somebody To Love” e “White Rabbit“, solo per citare i brani più noti, ma in realtà ogni disco finchè rimase nella band, è da considerarsi un capolavoro.
Le sue esperienze lisergiche diceva che servivano per crescita spirituale sua e degli ascoltatori, che talvolta raccontavano che la musica dei Jefferson Airplane, avvicinavano l’ uomo a Dio.
Furono gli straordinari protagonisti del Festival di Woodstock, dove il duo Paul Kantner e Grace Slick era considerato come la più grande alternativa alla coppia John Lennon e Yoko Ono.
Wooden Ships è un brano musicale scritto e composto nel 1968 dal trio Crosby-Kantner-Stills, le cui versioni furono eventualmente registrate sia dal supergruppo Crosby, Stills & Nash (senza Young) che dai Jefferson Airplane. (Fonte Wikipedia)
