Peter Green, vero nome Peter Allen Greenbaum (Londra, 29 ottobre 1946 – Canvey Island, 25 luglio 2020), è stato un chitarrista e cantante inglese, fondatore della rock band inglese Fleetwood Mac.
La sua ascesa al successo iniziò nel 1966, quando fu chiamato da John Mayall a sostituire Eric Clapton nei suoi Bluesbreakers.
L’ anno successivo, Peter fondò i Fleetwood Mac, diventando un vero punto di riferimento per tanti chitarristi blues, ma l’ abuso di LSD lo portò a gravi problemi psichiatrici.
Dopo anni di cure tornò a lavorare alternando , anche come session man.
Il suo stile unico, come il suo vibrato, lo portò a collaborazioni con i più importanti bluesman.
I suoi brani più famosi con i Fleetwood Mac rimangono Man of the World, Albatross e Black Magic Woman, quest’ultima interpretata due anni dopo da Carlos Santana, che la portò al successo planetario.
