Il 20 maggio 2013 moriva il musicista e compositore Ray Manzarek. In suo ricordo, vi posto il brano “Strange Days”, con testo e video.

Ray Manzarek, cofondatore dei leggendari The Doors, moriva 8 anni fa.
Raymond Daniel “Ray” Manzarek Jr., o più precisamente Manczarek (Chicago, 12 febbraio 1939 – Rosenheim, 20 maggio 2013), è stato un pianista statunitense, noto per essere stato il tastierista della rock band The Doors. Manzarek fu anche pianista-“bassista”, utilizzando un Rhodes Piano Bass, al posto del tradizionale bassista dei gruppi rock, di cui i Doors furono privi per gran parte della loro carriera. Lo strumento veniva appoggiato sul top piatto dell’organo (un Vox Continental e successivamente un Gibson G101). Questo gli permetteva di gestire la linea di basso con la mano sinistra e l’organo con la destra. In questo modo l’organo fu sempre suonato su ottave alte, dando alla melodia quel suono deciso e tagliente che gli rese tanta fortuna. (Fonte Wikipedia)
La canzone è parte della colonna sonora del film Strange Days del1995 diretto da Kathryn Bigelow e prodotto e scritto da James Cameron. Il titolo del film deriva dall’omonima canzone dei The Doors, suonata nel film dal gruppo Prong insieme a Ray Manzarek, ex tastierista dei Doors.
