Ric Ocasek, vero nome Richard Otcasek (Baltimora, 23 marzo 1944 – New York, 15 settembre 2019), è stato un cantante, produttore discografico e musicista statunitense.
A mio parere, Ric Ocasek era un’artista, capace di spaziare dalla musica alla pittura con grande bravura, che raggiunse la grande notorietà “cavalcando” la new wave, il rock ed il pop, senza mai rinunciare al proprio stile.
La canzone Magic fu scritta da Ric Ocasek ed uscì come singolo dei The Cars il 7 maggio 1984 come secondo estratto dal quinto album in studio Heartbeat City.
Il brano è uno dei più noti della band americana e fu accompagnato da un video molto divertente che potrete vedere di seguito.
