Robert Palmer, moriva Il 26 settembre 2003 a Parigi, a seguito di un attacco cardiaco.
Robert Allen Palmer Era nato a Batley (UK) il 19 gennaio 1949 ed aveva iniziato la carriera musicale sul finire degli anni ’60.
Nel 1974 debuttò come solista con l’ album “Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley”, ma il grande successo arrivò 5 anni più tardi con la hit “Johnny and Mary”, contenuta nel disco “Clues”.
Dal 1984 al 1997 alternò la sua carriera con quella dei Power Station, la band da lui formata con Andy e John Taylor dei Duran Duran e Tony Thompson degli Chic.
” Some Like It Hot ” è una canzone dei Power Station . Fu il primo singolo pubblicato dall’omonimo album di debutto del gruppo nel 1985 . Rilasciato dalla Parlophone Records nel 1985, la canzone è caratterizzata dai ritmi di batteria di Tony Thompson e dalla voce di Robert Palmer . Fu più grande successo della band, raggiunse il numero sei nella classifica dei singoli di Billboard Hot 100 e il numero quattro in Canada e Australia. Il video mostrava la modella transgender Caroline Cossey, meglio nota come Tula.
