Oggi è il compleanno del grande Trevor Horn. Per celebrarlo, ho pensato di postarvi la canzone degli YES , “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, con testo e video ufficiale.

Trevor Charles Horn è nato a Sunderland (UK) il 15 luglio 1949, è un musicista, cantante e produttore discografico.
Nel 1979 raggiunse la fama mondiale con la hit “Video Killed the Radio Star”, realizzata con i The Buggles, duo costituito da Horn con Geoffrey Downes, entrambi proveniente dagli Yes.
In realtà Trevor Horn sostituì Jon Anderson solo per l’ album Drama del 1980, poi lasciò la band per pubblicare il secondo album dei Buggles, intitolato “Adventures in Modern Recording”.
Dopo Adventures, Horn si dedica esclusivamente alla produzione discografica, con la sola eccezione della sua partecipazione alla concept band Art of Noise. Non di rado contribuisce come musicista agli album di cui è produttore. Fra gli artisti prodotti da Horn si possono citare: gli Yes (con i due album successivi a Drama, 90125 e Big Generator); Pet Shop Boys, LeAnn Rimes, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Malcolm McLaren, ABC, Grace Jones, Seal, Propaganda, Dollar, Tina Turner, Lisa Stansfield, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Mike Oldfield, Simple Minds, Marc Almond, Genesis, Charlotte Church, t.A.T.u. e Belle & Sebastian. Una prima versione della traccia era stata registrata da Trevor Rabin nel suo studio casalingo a Londra nel 1980 (e sarà successivamente pubblicata nell’album 90124 del 2003). La canzone venne rielaborata durante le sessioni di 90125 tra il 1982 e il 1983, con l’aggiunta dei contributi di Chris Squire, Trevor Horn e Jon Anderson. (Fonte Wikipedia)
