Carlos Augusto Alves Santana , è nato ad Autlán de Navarro (Messico) il 20 luglio 1947.
Carlos Santana è uno dei più grandi chitarristi di sempre, tanto che la rivista Rolling Stone, lo ha collocato al 20° posto della sua speciale classifica, ma fosse per me starebbe tra i primi 10, per tutto quello che ha e continua a dare alla musica mondiale.
Il suo tocco, la sua grande espressività ed improvvisazione, dove blues, musica latina e rock si fondono insieme a divagazioni jazz, fanno di Santana un esempio straordinario del modo di suonare la chitarra.
Impossibile non riconoscere il suono della sua chitarra, anche quando ha suonato per altri.
Balzò alla fama mondiale a Woodstock nel 1969, diventandone uno dei simboli di quel memorabile concerto.
Dopo un periodo di appannamento tra gli anni ’80 ed i ’90, nel 1999 Carlos pubblicò il monumentale album “Supernatural”, diventando un punto di riferimento per le nuove generazioni di chitarristi.
