Richard Parkin Starkey, questo il suo vero nome, è nato a Liverpool il 7 luglio 1940 ed entrò nei Beatles nel 1962, diventando fondamentale sia per le sue ritmiche precise e talvolta rivoluzionarie, sia per i cori.
Dopo lo scioglimento dei Fab 4, Ringo Starr ha intrapreso una proficua carriera solista, che spesso lo ha visto a giro nel mondo con tour memorabili.
Negli anni dei Beatles compose due canzoni, Don’t Pass Me By e Octopus’s Garden, diventando voce solista in brani come Yellow Submarine, With a Little Help from My Friends, Good Night, ma il suo contributo vocale è presente in ogni brano.
