Nel post di oggi ho voluto ricordare il leggendario B.B. King, scomparso 4 anni fa. Nell’articolo troverete una breve biografia, con il testo ed il video del brano “Lucille”.

B. B. King, nome d’arte di Riley B. King (Itta Bena, 16 settembre 1925 – Las Vegas, 14 maggio 2015), è stato un chitarrista e cantante statunitense.
Con una lunghissima carriera, è stato uno dei più importanti esponenti del blues della seconda parte del XX secolo e del XXI. Con la sua “Lucille”, una chitarra Gibson ES-335 custom, è diventato un’icona stessa del genere musicale già a partire dagli anni cinquanta.
Ha vinto 14 volte il Grammy. Nella rivista Rolling Stone è posto come sesto miglior chitarrista di tutti i tempi (Lista dei 100 migliori chitarristi secondo Rolling Stone).(Fonte Wikipedia)
Personalmente ho sempre adorato, sia la voce che la tecnica musicale di King, caratterizzata da note lunghe e suono “caldo”. Va ricordato che è stato il primo chitarrista ad usare il vibrato, ma con una tecnica particolare, chiamata hummingbird, inoltre non ha mai fato uso di accordi d’accompagnamento.
Lucille è un album in studio del bluesman B.B. King, pubblicato nel 1968. È intitolato con lo stesso nome con cui chiama la sua chitarra, una Gibson ES-335 nera. (Fonte Wikipedia)
