Il 26 gennaio 2016, moriva Colin Vearncombe, meglio conosciuto come Black. In suo ricordo vi posto il brano “Sweetest Smile”, con testo e video.
2 anni fa moriva Colin Vearncombe, che raggiunse la fama mondiale con il brano “Wonderful Life”.
Colin Vearncombe, era nato a Liverpool il 26 maggio 1962, la sua carriera era cominciata dalle ceneri del Punk, poi il suo stile andò verso la musica pop, che gli permise di scalare le classifiche con la hit Wonderful Life nel 1987, che vendette oltre 1,5 milioni di copie.
La canzone è stata ripresa negli anni da vari artisti, con belle cover come quelle di Tony Hadley, Avril Lavigne, Zucchero ed altri ancora. Ricordo che negli anni ’90 quando suonavo in una band locale chiamata “59100”, realizzammo una speciale cover del brano usando un ritmo rock un pò alla Iggy Pop.
Negli anni Black decise di utilizzare il suo nome per i suoi album, ma non riuscì a ripetere il grande successo del 1987.
