Elvis Aaron Presley, era nato a Tupelo (USA) l’8 gennaio 1935 ed è stato cantante, musicista ed attore. In suo onore vi posto il brano Jailhouse Rock, con testo e video.
Elvis è stato (ed è tuttora) il Re del rock’n roll. Difficile pensare alla musica senza di lui.
Nella sua carriera, durata circa 24 anni, Elvis pubblicò 61 album, vendendo più di un miliardo di dischi.
Numeri da capogiro, come la quantità di fans che ogni anno ricordano The King, andando alla sua villa museo “Graceland”, che si trova al numero 3734 del Boulevard Elvis Presley a Memphis, divenuta la seconda residenza più famosa e visitata degli USA dopo la Casa Bianca.
Presley morì a Memphis alle ore 15.00 del 16 agosto del 1977, a causa di un attacco cardiaco, all’età di 42 anni.
Jailhouse Rock è una canzone scritta da Jerry Leiber e Mike Stoller, portata al successo da Elvis Presley nel 1957.
La sua apparizione fu contemporanea all’uscita del film omonimo, con Presley impegnato nel ruolo del protagonista.
Tuttora popolarissima e probabilmente la più famosa canzone interpretata dal re del rock, è stata inclusa al 67º posto della lista delle 500 migliori canzoni di ogni tempo compilata dalla rivista Rolling Stone. (Fonte Wikipedia).
