Simon John Charles Le Bon, è nato a Bushey (UK) il 27 ottobre 1958 è un cantante, leader della band Duran Duran.
In attività dal 1980, Simon Le Bond è stato uno dei cantanti più iconici della scena pop rock con i Duran Duran, il progetto Arcadia e Band Aid.
Dopo alcuni anni di appannamento, la band è tornata negli ultimi anni ad un buon successo commerciale.
La popolarità del cantante fu immortalata nel film Sposerò Simon Le Bon del 1986 di Carlo Cotti: È tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di Clizia Gurrado, pubblicato nell’ottobre 1985, che narra la storia della sedicenne Clizia, una fan sfegatata dei Duran Duran e in particolare del suo leader Simon Le Bon; il cantante non appare mai di persona nella pellicola, piuttosto vengono mostrati numerosi spezzoni di vere interviste e videoclip. Rio è estratta dall’omonimo album del 1982 dei Duran Duran.
Il videoclip è stato girato presso l’isola di Antigua nel maggio 1982, per la regia di Russell Mulcahy. Il video mostra il gruppo intento a suonare su una barca a vela che solca il mar dei Caraibi. Brevi frammenti rappresentano i sogni frustrati dei vari componenti del gruppo che spiano e tentano di attirare l’attenzione della modella Reema Ruspoli.
