Oggi è il compleanno di John Paul Jones, uno dei più importanti bassisti della storia del rock, membro fondamentale dei Led Zeppelin.
John Baldwin, alias John Paul Jones, è nato a Sidcup (UK) il 3 gennaio 1946 ed è polistrumentista, compositore, che nella sua lunga carriera ha collaborato con artisti di fama mondiale come, Jeff Beck, Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, Shirley Bassey, Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones , Nico, senza dimenticare l’ arrangiamento per archi nella canzone “She’s a Rainbow” dei Rolling Stones.
Dotato di grande tecnica, ma anche di una spiccata bravura negli arrangiamenti, Jones è un musicista capace di spaziare dal jazz al blues all’ hard rock.
Si potrebbero scrivere pagine intere su questo fantastico artista, ma cosa c’è di meglio che celebrarlo con uno dei suoi capolavori?
