Demis Roussos moriva il 25 gennaio 2015. In suo ricordo, vi posto il brano “Far Away”, con testo e video.

Artemios Ventouris “Demis” Roussos, era nato ad Alessandria d’Egitto il 15 giugno 1946.
Cantautore, bassista, fu membro di doversi gruppi, quali The Idols, Minis, Stormies, We Five , Aphrodite’s Child, poi continuò con una proficua carriera solista.
La sua inconfondibile voce, dotato di una poetica unica, lo fecero uno dei più importanti artisti del rock progressivo, ma anche del pop.
Il periodo degli Aphrodite’s Child fu davvero unico, dal 1968 al 1972, pubblicarono canzoni indimenticabili, come Rain and Tears, Spring, Summer, Winter And Fall, It’s Five O’Clock.
Voglio ricordare che il tastierista di quella band era Vangelis, straordinario compositore ancora in attività.
Roussos morì ad Atene a seguito di un tumore, aveva 68 anni.
Il brano Far Away è estratto dall’album Happy to Be… del 1976 di Demis Roussos, pubblicato dalla Philips Records, raggiunse il 4° posto della Chart inglese.
