Phil Collins è uno dei più importanti cantautori e batteristi della storia del rock e non solo.
Philip David Charles Collins è nato a Londra il 30 gennaio 1951, è un cantautore e polistrumentista, membro dei leggendari Genesis.
Phil iniziò a suonare la batteria quando aveva solo 5 anni, sette anni più tardi formò la sua prima band.
Nel 1970 fu chiamato a suonare le percussioni nella canzone “Art of Dying“, contenuta nel monumentale album “All Things Must Pass” di George Harrison, poi nel solito anno entrò a far parte dei Genesis, dopo aver superato un provino a casa di Peter Gabriel.
Ben presto le sue doti vocali entrarono a supporto di Peter Gabriel, anche se i rapporti tra loro si deteriorarono alla svelta.
Nel 1975 Gabriel lasciò i Genesis, che virarono verso il pop grazie a Collins, il quale si coingedò dalla band nel 1995 per proseguire il suo successo nella carriera solista.
In effetti Collins ha avuto maggiore successo senza i Genesis, con brani straordinari tra pop e rock, come “Easy Lover“, “In The Air Tonight“, “Another Day in Paradise” e molte altre ancora.
Can’t Stop Loving You è un brano estratto dall’ album Testify, uscito nel 2002.
In realtà la canzone di Collins è solo una cover di I Can not Stop Loving You (Though I Try) scritta da Billy Nicholls e il primo pubblicato il 1978 da Leo Sayer. (Fonte Wikipedia)
