Frank Sinatra nasceva a Hoboken (USA) il 12 dicembre 1915.
Francis Albert Sinatra, detto Frank, è stato un cantante, attore e conduttore televisivo statunitense.
Di origine italiana, suo padre era siciliano e sua madre ligure, The Voice è stato uno dei più importanti cantanti di sempre.
Nella sua straordinaria carriera, con oltre 150 milioni di dischi venduti, Sinatra ha vinto molti premi: 2 Oscar, 2 Golden Globe, 21 Grammy Awards ed un 1 Emmy Award.
Frank morì il 14 maggio 1998 a West Hollywood, debilitato da 3 infarti ed un cancro.
New York, New York è una canzone scritta per l’omonimo film del 1977 diretto da Martin Scorsese ed interpretato da Liza Minnelli e da Robert De Niro, e cantata nel film dalla stessa Minnelli. La musica è stata scritta da John Kander mentre il testo è di Fred Ebb.
Dopo il successo della versione della Minnelli, nel 1979 il brano fu registrato da Frank Sinatra, per il suo album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980). (Fonte Wikipedia)
