Il 27 agosto 1990, moriva per incidente d’aereo il grande Stevie Ray Vaughan. In suo ricordo, vi posto il brano “Lenny”, con testo e video.

Stephen Ray Vaughan era nato a Dallas il 3 ottobre 1954, imparò a suonare la chitarra e la composizione da autodidatta, prendendo ispirazione dai grandi del blues e da Jimi Hendrix.
Fu Mick Jagger ad accorgersi delle potenzialità del chitarrista, il quale lo segnalò al produttore Jerry Wexler per farlo suonare al Montreux Jazz Festival del 1982.
David Bowie rimase affascinato dal musicista e lo convinse a suonare per lui nell’ album Let’s Dance del 1983, di cui vi segnalo lo straordinario assolo in China Girl.
SRV iniziò così a farsi conoscere nel mondo, portando il blues ad un nuovo splendore, fino a quando la vita gli sfuggì di mano il 27 agosto 1990 ad East Troy quando l’ elicottero che doveva riportarlo a Chicago precipitò.
Quella sera Vaughan si era esibito con Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy e il fratello Jimmie, non stava bene ed era stanco, così chiese a Slowhand di prendere il suo posto per tornare prima a casa.
Poco dopo il decollo però il velivolo si schiantò contro una collina a causa della fitta nebbia e della poca esperienza del pilota in simili condizioni atmosferiche. (Fonte Wikipedia)
